Business Support – Grow your business

“Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion.”    –   Jack Welch

Business support to grow your business

I work with ambitious business owners whose businesses typically have between three and 15 employees and are in the services sector.

They want

  • A profitable and successful business
  • A great work-life balance allowing them to have a full life outside work
  • Enough money to allow them to fulfil all their financial needs now and in the future, whether it’s saving for retirement, sending the kids to private school, or buying a second home.

But they struggle to get there on their own.

They are usually running a business that may be profitable, but not massively so. It’s not growing and they are working all hours to keep on top of it all. They’re pretty exhausted.

Why businesses don’t grow

Generally, the reasons they aren’t growing are because:

  • They have no strategy
  • There isn’t a plan on how to get to where they want
  • They don’t know what they need to do
  • There aren’t enough hours in the day to do all the things they need to to
  • They have limited support or don’t have anyone to talk to or bounce ideas off

They have the technical skills, so know their business inside out, but don’t know how to run a business effectively.

They will have ad hoc systems that seem to be working, but aren’t really, won’t let go of control and are working long hours when their staff aren’t.
Does this sound like you?

How I help

I work with my clients using a mixture of structure (formal planning) followed by a bespoke action plan and regular monthly meetings to accelerates their growth, getting them to where they want to go.

I am also the back office queen so I not only provide a ton of accountability for my clients, but I do the stuff they don’t have time to do; whether it’s creating dynamic pricing spreadsheets, improving efficiencies through workflow mapping to implementing new systems. Or writing blogs and helping them with their marketing.

If you’d like to see how I’ve helped some of my clients, you can read some of my case studies here.

You can also see more of my testimonials from my happy clients here.

  • Don’t just take my word for it …

    • Client A has increased revenue by 55% and profitability by 65%
    • Client B increased revenue from £600k a year to £750k a year within 12 months
    • Client C has just won a grant from a local council after I wrote her business plan
    • Client D got £36k back in R&D tax credits
    • Client E raised money to buy another business
    • Client F has added a new complementary service which will treble her revenue over the next two years.
‘I now consider Karen to be a vital part of my business’
‘Karen was brought in (as a recommendation) to help support the marketing function at nFocus: to help me develop the marketing strategy and plan and to act as an on-going mentor. That we now have a marketing plan signed off to support our business plan is brilliant. I am so grateful for the support and guidance she has given me over the past few months. I plan to continue using her on an on-going basis.
Karen is friendly, positive and her real-world experience has been invaluable in getting buy-in from the Directors. She really has been awesome to work with and I couldn’t recommend her highly enough!’
‘Karen was hired as we needed someone with a broad business background, combined with strong organisational and process definition skills. We needed a self-starter willing to take decisions, who was comfortable to operate with a high level brief rather than a detailed specification, was able to respond quickly to changes in direction and a willingness to adapt to the new environment. Karen was excellent.
I’m immensely grateful for the value Karen has delivered to our company. I would hire Karen again without hesitation.’
