You can spend your entire life running around trying to make your business work; managing your staff, dealing with customers, juggling suppliers, marketing, sales, the list goes on and on.

And despite all this, the business is not flourishing as well as you hoped. You may be on the tipping point of success or failure.

Here are some signs things may not be going as well as they should:

  • Cashflow is a big headache. Paying bills or your staff at the end of the month is on a knife edge
  • You have to pay your suppliers before your customers/clients have to pay you.
  • You don’t have enough money to pay your tax and/or VAT bills.
  • Your suppliers are demanding payment.
  • Your customers/clients are being very slow at paying you.
  • You are up to your your lending limit with the bank.
  • Your costs are going up disproportionately to your sales.
  • You aren’t paying yourself in order to keep the business running.
  • You are funding the business from other personal/business sources.

Clients often come to me thinking they need a new sales and marketing plan as the solution to their problems.

The problem is that these are unlikely to solve the underlying issues. All that will happen is you’ll be spending more money working on doing more of the same.

But help is at hand and the earlier you start, the better the chances of success and turning the business around.

The first step is to understand exactly where you are now.
